In May 2009 and after a year of hard work, ECOPIEDRA, S.L., earned certification as a Registered Company under UNE EN ISO 9001:08, which was granted by the certifying body, AENOR, after it verified the level of implementation of ECOPIEDRA’s Management System through external audits performed at the central offices, warehouse and factory. It should be pointed out that ECOPIEDRA, S.L., is the first company within the sector of Agglomerate Stone manufacturers in Spain and Europe to certify its Management System. It should also be highlighted that this certification is not solely based on the materials manufactured by the firm, but it is also based on each one of the departments involved at the company: manufacturing, customer service, sales, marketing, finance, after-sales service, etc.

To date in 2009, ECOPIEDRA has attended several international trade fairs in Germany, Poland and Italy.

BAU: One of most important construction trade fairs in Germany and the second-most important one in Europe, a must for the company. Success in 2009 has come from the quality of the contacts made and the presentation of new models.

BUDMA: The most important trade fair in Eastern Europe. Participating at this event for the first time, the company’s letter of presentation in the Polish market and the force behind its introduction were based on the brand’s acceptance and its wide variety of models, formats and colours.

MADE-EXPO: This trade fair in Milan provides an opening to the international market thanks to its massive exhibitor participation and the considerable public turnout .

For several months, ECOPIEDRA has been involved in an improvement project through the development of its R&D&I Department, whereby it has been performing more comprehensive control of production and of the company’s processes. ECOPIEDRA is thus immersed in the process of implementing a Quality System (ISO 9001). This represents a major step regarding the company’s involvement in quality and continuous improvement.

Another noteworthy aspect is the increase in the technical documentation that ECOPIEDRA is creating, which will help its customers to incorporate any dossier into their projects. One of the many documents that it is working on are the Technical Data Sheets of every material. They will contain specific information on all materials, on each model and on each colour manufactured by the firm, as well as information on the unique laboratory tests for each one.

The final point to highlight is the creation of an internal laboratory, which is facilitating the testing of each model regarding aspects such as absorption, strength, frost susceptibility, etc., and which contributes to more comprehensive control of production, thereby achieving greater uniformity.
